Working with Conexient as a UX consultant, I designed and developed a UI for their content management backend. The goal was to integrate the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) Medical Subject Headings (MeSH)—a taxonomy of over 39,000 terms—as a tagging system for medical articles. To handle the scale, I built a searchable, tree-based interface using the MeSH structure.
After initial research, I moved quickly from low-fidelity wireframes to a functional prototype (HTML, CSS, and JS), which I tested with editorial staff. I also collaborated closely with developers to align with the CMS and API requirements. Ongoing feedback has refined both the design and code, particularly in UX language. The system is set to launch by summer 2025.
Check out the live prototype.
